About Me
Legume Loyalist began in 2009 in my dark and crowded college kitchen. Two and a half years later the blog has taken a new swing. You know the story: city girl moves to the country to try her hand at farming. Well, this is something like that, but with a little more punch and circumstance.
In February of 2012, my boyfriend and I packed-up our Brooklyn apartment and shoved what we could into the backseat of our station wagon. Less than a year out of college, we decided it was about time we begin our education as young, aspiring farmers. But we want to do it right – we’re talking business plans, R & D, and grant money where we can swing it. And that’s where this blog comes in: we’re plotting our journey as we travel from farm to new farm to book to internet learning everything that we can to ensure our future farm (animal, vegetable, human) will survive and thrive.
Hi! My name is Stephanie. I’m an eater of vegetarian foods, a freelance writer, agriculture activist and an aspiring farmer. When I’m not working outdoors, I’m busy baking, cooking, knitting and figuring out how the eff to use my spinning wheel.
Take a peek at my Flickr account for some more farm photography.
Did I mention I’m obsessed with farm women? Check out my farm women page for more info!
